Gerry Balbier, Executive Director

Mr. Balbier earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University and his M.A. Public Management and Information Systems from Carnegie Mellon University. He also completed Carnegie Mellon's Senior Executive Program.

He has held numerous leadership positions in business, philanthropy and non-profit management. Mr. Balbier was most recently the Director of Tomorrow’s Healthcare, an Internet-based education provider sponsored by the Jewish Healthcare Foundation.

Mr. Balbier served as Executive Vice President at Apangea Learning, a national K-12 education company. Prior to Apangea, he spent 13 years as the Senior Program Officer in Education for The Heinz Endowments. Before moving into philanthropy, Mr. Balbier spent four years as a Legislative Aide to the late Senator John Heinz. He spent his school years in Manchester, England.
